Is this as important as Iraq, Alito or the other random bits of stories floating around now? No, of course not. This is just a little story about how we have PROOF the culture of corruption is alive and well here in District Six. Rubberstamp Stearns just outright flip-flopped on Social Security. It's not even a question.

Stearns honestly thinks he has a walkover. Dave is busting his tail to prove him wrong. If you want to help, give us a Christmas present. Those of us who are Blue, who are working to see Dave, Bill Nelson and a Democratic Governor elected thank you!
MILLIONAIRE STEARNS.... YOU'RE ON NOTICE
I hate to co-opt Stephen Colbert's line, but it's time for Stearns to wake up and smell the challenge. With the help of Mike over at Florida Politics (a great blog, BTW), we find that Cliff:
Promised "No government investing of Social Security funds." and to "Preserve Social Security's disability and survivors benefits."
Great goals, no? Strangely, the same ones Dave supports. Coincidental, I guess. Oh wait, that's because it's the sane way to go. Alas, Cliff lost that sanity, and now his current Social Security position is MISSING those two things.
Cliff, why are you suddenly in favor of something that you KNEW was a bad idea the first time you wrote this page?
Cliff, why are you suddenly against disability and survivors benefits?
Is it possible that Rubberstamp Stearns changed his mind because he wanted to make sure Karl Rove didn't leave a horse's head in his bed? For a guy who votes with Bush CONSTANTLY, voted with Tom Delay CONSTANTLY and gave $5,000 to Delay's defense fund, Ol' Rubberstamp sure hasn't managed to bring much home to the District in trade for hanging out in the gutter of Corruption Alley. Now he's trying to make sure he not only doesn't help folks in North Central Florida, he wants to take their Social Security benefits. That sounds pretty fair....
When he is elected, Dave Bruderly will ensure that everyone who contributes to Social Security gets the benefits they deserve. Not one dollar will be cut because of a vote by Dave Bruderly.
Not. One. Dollar.
You can take that to the bank. Unless Cliff Stearns gets to your check first.
I'd like to thank Jessie Lee, the blogmaster for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee's Stakeholder blog for picking up this story. I'm linked there and if you don't read it every day... you're a coward(/colbert).
